Four new projects are joining the PEPR Batteries program

April 8, 2025

The PEPR Batteries project portfolio was expanded with 4 new projects at the beginning of 2025, bringing the total number of funded projects to 19.

With these 4 new projects, the overall PEPR budget is now fully allocated. The budget distribution is shown in the figure below. This graph reflects the PEPR management’s commitment to prioritizing the funding of scientific projects, as evidenced by the governance costs being capped at just a few percent.

Projects that complement those previously launched

On the new chemistry front, UPBEAT will develop high-energy-density K-ion cells, while COFLUENSS will focus on fluorination and co-extrusion of all-solid-state Na-ion batteries.

The ROSBEEF project aims to advance Raman spectroscopy with spatial shift combined with theoretical modeling to enhance interface observation.

The SCAR project will address issues related to battery dismantling and safety management right from the design stage.

Project descriptions will soon be available on the PEPR Batteries website.
